“E Ola Mau Ka Nani Nei” – Two Artists Mini-Show – Oct. 10 – Nov. 15, 2026

Exhibition: October 10 – November 15, 2026 Artist Reception: October 10, 3 – 5 pm “E Ola Mau Ka Nani Nei” Rooted in the spirit of Hawaiʻi, this exhibition honors the enduring presence of beauty in all its forms — natural, cultural, and deeply human. E Ola Mau Ka Nani Nei invites viewers to pause, breathe, and recognize the timeless elegance woven through everyday life. Each artwork becomes a reminder that beauty is not fleeting but alive, resilient, and ever‑growing. “Forever Beauty” celebrates this truth with a collection that uplifts, inspires, and reconnects us to what is most essential.

Irina V. Place Artist Statement Living on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, my artwork bridges the fluid nature of watercolor with the deep philosophies of ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) and culture. I interpret these indigenous concepts through a comparative prism of global folk traditions and mythology. Watercolor’s translucent layers mirror the island’s volcanic landscape and Pacific currents, while mixed mediums provide structure. My paintings honor this sacred spirit of place, revealing the universal syntax of human storytelling. Biography Irina V. Place is a Big Island artist whose creativity is steeped in her knowledge of folk traditions and mythologies from around the world. She works in a variety of mediums, often bending their capabilities. Watercolor is her main medium. Her works have been acquired by individual and corporate collectors in the US and abroad as well as Hawaii State Foundation for Culture and the Arts. She displays her art at the Firehouse Gallery, Waimea.
The Firehouse Gallery is open Thurs.-Sun. from 11–3 and whenever the flags are flying.  Join us for the opening of this mini show and a preview of the Season of Sharing exhibit in the main gallery.
